C. M. Okonkwo (CMO), is a French-speaking Nigerian author, coach, editor, and reviewer. Her journey in the world of storytelling began in the vibrant streets of Lagos, Nigeria. With a thirst for knowledge and a passion for literature, she ventured to France to pursue her academic dreams, culminating in the acquisition of three outstanding degrees. Although her professional path led her to HR, her true calling was always in the realm of writing, a realm ignited by her insatiable love for travel and tourism, where she draws inspiration from life’s experiences and merges them with her limitless imagination.
A Literary Maestro: CMO is an exceptionally talented author with a diverse range of literary interests. Her best genres include action-packed mystery, thriller, detective, and suspense, where she weaves intricate tales that keep readers on the edge of their seats. Embracing a writing goal of diversity, she has ventured into various other genres, showcasing her versatility as a storyteller. From erotica to romance, literary fiction to horror, science fiction to fantasy, and non-fiction, CMO's prowess knows no bounds.
An Award Winning Wordsmith: With 40 published books under her belt, CMO has garnered both critical acclaim and recognition for her literary contributions. Several of her works have been shortlisted for prestigious awards, while others have triumphed, earning her accolades such as the Africa Book Club Short Story Competition (winner), the 50 Best Indie Books (two-time finalist), Quramo Writers’ Prize (two-time finalist), and multiple wins in the Wattpad Short Story Contest. Her ability to craft compelling narratives that resonate with readers across genres is a testament to her mastery of storytelling.
A Literary Advocate and Community Builder: Not only does CMO excel in her writing career, but she is also deeply committed to fostering the growth of literature and literary communities. As an active member of International Thriller Writers and PEN Nigeria, she actively engages with fellow writers on a global scale, exchanging ideas and knowledge to elevate the craft. Locally, she served as the Secretary (2020 – 2022) of the Association of Nigerian Authors (Lagos Chapter), contributing her leadership and passion to the development of the Nigerian literary scene.
